If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. The narrator Suzanne Cerreta did a wonderful job with this book. This was such a great read and full of surprises. This book will keep you reading long into the night. This book has a wonderful story and well developed characters. Bad decision-making, law-bending behavior, and surprise romances make freshman year challenging for Rachael. On top of her troubles at school, Rachael finds herself forging a new relationship with her emotionally shaken father after Mom abandons the family to pursue a psychic calling. But being threatened by a jealous She-Devil, avoiding the advances of a 30-something redneck, and discovering an art fraud scheme mess with her "to do" list. Rachael O'Brien's freshman plan seems simple: Attend a southern college away from her hometown of Canton, Ohio, earn a degree, party, and meet cute guys-hopefully acing the latter two. This is a great book this is the first book in the Rachael O’Brien Chronicles written by Paisley Ray and narrated by Suzanne Cerreta.

And with Bunny Mellon, Gordon has another tricky subject, a far more vital and relatable figure than Brooke Astor but still very noticeably a space alien visiting from some kind of parallel dimension. Astor Regrets, actually giving her more flesh-and-blood believability than she was usually able to simulate in real life. Journalist Meryl Gordon did a wonderful job of teasing out Brooke Astor's admittedly elusive humanity in Mrs. In life, the two women had quite a bit in common: each was intelligent, each could be generous to friends and tyrannical to staff, each married into staggering wealth (Astor on her third marriage, Mellon on her second), each craved the limelight, each tried doggedly throughout the decades to be happy in the day-to-day, both adored dogs (Astor dachshunds, Mellon beagles), both had easy access to the top shelves of American political power, and both were glad-handed philanthropists. And even in death, they share at least one crucial thing in common: they're extremely lucky in their biographer. Seven years later, another headline-making, obscenely wealthy American socialite, Bunny Mellon, died at the age of 103. Astor Regrets, was a ripe old 105 when she died in 2007. I needed a couple more real conversations to be 100% happy with the relationship.Īs for conflicts, there were a couple. I would just have liked it be less heavy on the sex. And the dynamic between Peyton and Levi was fun and snarky and cute. He was different from what I’d expected, but in a good way. I loved his relationship with his whole family, really, but we’ll get to that. I also loved his relationship with his brother, Brady. I liked that Peyton wasn’t a typical player, that he was so driven, and that was sweet and had a great sense of humour. Four years later, Levi transfers to Franklin U, and it turns out the chemistry and connection they had that one night is still there. Then they hooked up but went to different colleges. He and Peyton went to the same high school but never really interacted until Levi’s graduation party. His dad Talon is considered one the greatest players of all time. Peyton is the son of two football superstars who won the Super Bowl together. Let’s started with just the book on it’s own. But also, Peyton is Talon and Miller’s son! And, we were going to see Maddox again! So many things to look forward to! And the book paid off in pretty much every aspect. This was the book I was most excited for in the series. Booth desires connection and meaning in his life, but doesn't need or want anyone telling him how to go about getting it, he never had parents doing that growing up and it becomes clear that his mind has not grown much beyond the mentality of a young teenager as he acts primarily from emotion. The irony is the hustle still kills him, but its in his own home this time. He'd rather be a fake Abraham Lincoln pretending to die in an arcade all day than get killed in real life. Lincoln, though has moved on, his mind was elevated by the death of Lonny. Even after Lincoln has given up 3-card, Booth desires the easy money. And Lincoln, by being the great 3-card Monte hustler he was, set a standard for his brother: there is money to be made in the hustle. Instead they follow the money which, for Lincoln, led to his best friend being shot and killed because of the hustle they were putting on in the streets. They are left to navigate money, relationships, life without anyone pointing them in a direction. This play is about abandonment, and how two kids must claim any place in the world without the guidance of their parents.
